New House
Woohoo~ Got my first house ever! This is exciting. Cannot post pictures though, BlogSpot is not liking the pictures I have been trying to upload all these times, which is why I have not been blogging as promise (*good excuses).
Been actively looking for "gently" used or new house for a good six months before deciding on a house that we (hubby and I) like. We end up buying a brand new house given that we both are terribly bad at fixing things, and the price of buying a new one is equivalent to buying a "gently" used one. We are better off saving ourselves some troubles down the road, right?
Alas, I have to take my word back. We have to supervise closely at the construction because just our luck that the contractor to build our house is pretty much slacking the whole time. Some of our requests were not carried out as planned, and he is always not around the office, never picks up the call or returns the email. We were complaining, and the completion date has been delayed from mid-November to end of November. The builder has finally decided to change to another contractor, and things have improved drastically, and the completion date has been push back to mid-November, although by then we have already postponed our rental agreement to meet the completion date, and were given three weeks’ notice to the closing date, but our apartment has a policy to give a two months’ notice. Not only that, the very second day we got the key to the house, the A/C stopped working, and the weather is not cooperating either. It was forecast to have a freeze for about a week starting from the day our A/C broke. Thank goodness we have not move in yet.
My experience is, you put the efforts in before you move in for the new house, and you put efforts in after you move in for buying a used house (based on friends' experiences). But in the end, everything will be worth it, because you will have a house you call your own.
We are getting the refrigerator and washer and dryer tomorrow. Can't wait to settle in.

What have I been up to
I have tried to update my blog once, but my computer failed me. It has gotten sooo slow...... I was trying to upload some pictures, but they all failed to download. So I gave up. Lost my patience.
OK, I will try to update more blog posts from now on. But of course, no guarantee.
October 2013
I have finally been offered a job by the end of October. Life is good.
November 2013
I went back to my husband's and my hometown for our wedding ceremonies.
December 2013
Came back from our trip and everything freeze here in town... In fact, the coldest it has been in history.
January - February 2014
Nothing much happens, or my memory has failed me.
March 2014
Got another job offer. Decided that I should go for it since this job is more in line to my career goal.
May 2014
Went to Big Bend, have the scariest hike again! I have been there four years ago, and have the scariest hike ever because there are mountain lions, bears, wild boars, snakes... you name it, and they have it. When I was there, there are signs warning of recent mountain lion encounter, and if I am not mistaken, it was exactly a week ago when it happens. Anyway, it is five miles walk to the window view and back, and sunset is the best time to go, which means by the time we walk back it will be dark. With the mountain lion warning signs and hearing that each area is cover by at least one mountain lion just almost scared me to death. I was constantly out of breath as there is a lot of climbing to do, and my legs got cramped couple of times too. According to my friends that were with us, I actually went pale a few times. Then the next day, my hip bone and leg bone dislocated. Orz...
June 2014
Nothing exciting
July 2014
Went to Oklahoma for July 4th, I got beg bug bites all over me, were not able to sleep well, and just plain uncomfortable the whole trip. The lodge we rent is the smallest lodge I have ever seen, the bathroom the nastiest. I hate it whenever the bathrooms in the hotels are not well keep, and people have the guts to charge high amount some more. Simply disgusting.
August 2014
Nothing exciting
So this sums up my past year's activities. Need to sleep now.

November/Thanksgiving Beauty Purchases
I usually buy some beauty products for the year (yes, the whole year) during November/Thanksgiving since there are a lot more sales or gifts during this time around.
I was running out of the eye cream, and the one I got last year doesn't seems to work for the wrinkles under my eyes. After some research and seeing some deals, I have decided to switch to Estee Lauder to give it a try. The best thing is that this purchase comes with some gifts, quite a bit of gifts too.
Here's the gifts I got for purchasing the eye cream. It comes with the snake skin bag, which I am not a fan of, estee lauder palette, 3 mini eyeliners, mini serum, mini face cream with spf 15, which I can't use since I am allergic to the chemical sunscreen, lipstick, and 10 days mascara.
Sephora mystery gifts with my purchases. I bought the OleHeriksen for $48. But I wanted the mystery gifts and not the shipping charge, so I purchase the Sephora cotton pads for $2. Of course I got my 3 free samples purchasing online.
Here's what I got for the mystery gifts: 4 Sephora foundation samples, Nars foundation, Urban Decay foundation/brightening primer, L'Occitane face cream, and Lancome primer. By the way, the gift bag actually cost I think $1/2 online. So just the bag itself has made up the extra $2 I purchase to get the free shipping and cotton pads.
Here's how the face cream looks like. It is super mini.
Here's all the products unboxed.
I usually purchase a strong facial peel once a year to get rid of all the acne scars and "tough" dead skins accumulated over the years that I couldn't get rid of using regular scrubs.
I used Vichy vitamin C peel last year. It is a serum that last for 30 days (1 month), and you have to put the serum in the fridge since the vitamin c is very unstable and all natural. It's the first and the best I have used so far. I got it at Ulta last year, for about $45ish. Unfortunately they don't sell it anymore :(( So I thought I will try something else this time. I have used OleHeriksen once since I got it, I have good experience so far. It has this tingly sensation, in a good way (not burning feeling in anyway), and my skin feels really smooth after the mask. The only downside for me is that I have to wash the product off my face, and I don't really know if I did clean it off well or not... I don't have to wash the Vichy one. Yeah, call me lazy, hah.
I got this gifts too with the purchase of the double-wear foundation with spf 10. Again, they have the snake skin bag again, which I don't really care for. Also, I don't understand why they will have two lipsticks with this gifts. But I do love their lipstick smells. They smells a bit berry-ish, not the old lipsticks usually smells.
Anyway, here are just some beauty products I bought during November of 2012.
Ciao~

Thanksgiving Trip 2012
I went to the beach for Thanksgiving weekend this year, since the weather seems to be pretty good, mostly in the high 70s. Usually the weather around Thanksgiving is cold, and all you can do it eat and sleep. But weirdly, this year seems to be pretty warm.
The trip lasted three days. We intended to go to Corpus Christi since I have never been there. But the weather forecast shown that it will rain on the second day of our trip, so we ended up changing our plan at the very last minute, and went to Galveston instead. We literally made up the decision to go to Galveston when we just departed. Who knows the weather in Corpus Christi ended up really nice... Anyway...
11/22/2012 Thursday
8:30am - car wash, vacuum, and gas.
9:00am - start our journey.
9:15am - changed the plan after realizing that we will not be able to make it to Corpus Christi.
1:45pm - reached Houston, TX, and have lunch at Cafe 101
3:00pm - shopped at fit. It's like Daiso (Japanese dollar stores), and they carry a lot of Daiso's stuffs, but selling at a higher price. But the quality of the stuffs are mostly good.
4:15pm - on the road to Galveston.
5:30pm - check into Baymount Hotel.
7:00pm - try to find a spot to look at the Christmas lights at the aquarium, but unsuccessful after almost an hour of the drive. We just couldn't get a close up look. I just refuse to spend $8 for admission fees just to look at those lights.
8:00pm - shops at Walgreen and CVS to look for deals.
9:00pm - went to fill up the gas.
9:20pm - bought chicken nuggets at McD for dinner.
9:30pm - back to the hotel and surf deals for black friday sales.
Budget of the day:
Gas $80 (including vacuum and car wash)
Food $30 (including $4 bubble tea and tax)
Hotel $60 (including tax)
Total $170
11/23/2012 Friday
8:30am - breakfast at the hotel. Too many people, too little tables and chairs.
10:30am - Galveston Island State Park. $5/p
1:30pm - Office Depot for some shopping.
2:30pm - lunch at Black Pearl Oyster Bar and Grille. We intended to go to the Clary's Seafood Restaurant, but their kitchen closed at 2pm that day.
Black Pearl has oyster happy hours from 4-7pm during weekdays for $8 rather than the normal price of $~13 but we are too full by then.
3:30pm - parked at the beach side and walk to the Pleasure Peer. We didn't go in though.
4:30pm - left Galveston to Brenham, TX.
7:15pm - bought chicken nuggets at McD for dinner $5, second day in a role.
7:30pm - checked into Super 8. Rest for the night.
Budget:
Food $35 (including tax)
Hotel $90 (including tax)
Gas $45 (including tax) - I don't remember if it is Friday or Saturday
Admission $10
Total $180
11/24/2012 Saturday
9:00am - breakfast at the hotel. Decent.
11:00am - left to Austin.
1:30pm - Lunch at Salt Lick
3:30pm - shopped at Round Rock Outlet
5:30pm - home sweet home
Budget:
Food $20
Although it seems like a short trip, I do enjoy it to the fullest. I actually didn't buy much this year, and quite proud of myself for not spending so much on useless stuffs or stuffs that depreciates too fast, haha.

Long Time No Post and Some Updates!
It's been so long since I last posted. I visit my blog everyday, for the links at the right hand side of my blog, but never have the urge to blog.
Supposed to study this afternoon at the library, but instead, I used the checking mail excuse and stayed on the net for over two hours now, ready other people's blog, and have the book that I am supposed to read right by my side...
Since so much time has wasted, I might as well show some loves to my long neglacted blog. This means, picture time!
May highlight: Memorial Trip - Animals:
Killer Whale
Sea Otter
June highlight: Museum
Nemo and star fish
Movie night is awesome
July highlight: Trip
Ferris wheel
Can you guess where this picture is from?
August, September - blurry month. Don't quite remember what happened.
This wine is good~
November highlight: Zoo.
River otters

May Highlights (2011)
May 1:
Misting rain and the temperature is getting low.
May 2 - 4:
Brr~ Freezing cold. What's wrong with the 365 degrees temperature. Hot one day and cold the next.
May 5:
Cinco De Mayo, where Mexico win over the battle with the French. Heard that Mexico is not even celebrating it, so why the American? *Insert question marks....
May 6:
Thanks to Cinco De Mayo day, we have Mexican food for lunch, then diarrhea for the rest of the afternoon. Nice...
Called family up to wish them Happy Mother's Day.
May 7:
Call family up again to do the same thing. Went splurging again. *Wail... I am a poor kid now.
Don't quite remember that I have this going on until 11.29.2011. I am just going to post it up like this.

Eventful April (2011)
Hello blog, I am back...
Anyway, here goes my days in April 2011.
April 1 ~ 3:
Have my hair permed.
Scary boat ride...
But the dog seems to enjoy the ride though.
Not ready to go back to the reality.
April 4:
First day back to normal routine... Very... excited... -_-|||
Leaves~ Just something random.
April 7:
First week back, and greeted with tire(s) out of air. Frantically filled up the air for all tires, thinking that it's just low tire pressure. Little do I know what is waiting for me later next week... By the way, is my first time filling air in tires, though I have seen it many many times. Definitely harder than it seems. Tip: Unscrew all those little black caps first, and do it real fast, cause quarters you put in will not have enough time for you to fill up all four tires if you are filling them in snail speed, like I do, though the light did went off, hehe.
April 10:
Went out at night to get grocers for week days lunch. The tire light is coming on again. Getting nervous, cause I ran out of quarters, and it's a Sunday night, not an auto shop nor a bank is open!!! Lucky the counter guy is cute enough to let me fill up my gas for free, probably doesn't want to go through the hassle of exchanging notes for coins for me...
So the tire light went off again. But I have decided to bring the car to the shop for a body checkup, there must be something wrong with the tire(s).
April 11:
Drove around town after 6PM trying to find an auto shop. Out of luck. By the time I get there, it's closed.
April 12:
Found one auto shop close to my area, but I got there 15 minutes late. They closed at six.
April 13:
That tire light finally came on again. Alarm to myself, definitely a leak in the tire(s). Reached the same auto shop that I went yesterday at 5:58PM. Just as I am approaching the shop, they are pulling down the garage door??? Frustrated, have to use the GPS to find another one cause I don't think I can put off with this problem anymore. About half an hour later... (Finally, there's one that close at 7PM), get the car checked up. Sure thing, I got to spend 20 plus to get the tire fixed.
Look at that... bet you don't see it everyday.
Tada... A nail that's about nine centimeters long poke right into the rear left tire, and I have drove on it for one whole week... Amazing ain't me? (I know, rolling eyes and shaking head)
April 14:
So here I am, thinking that this month is eventful enough... Never do I know my area is hit by hail... Once again, first time experiencing this (at least I think so).
How is this possible? That many in one night? Lucky it's not golf ball size.
Golf ball or not, it still made a big hole on the car... I can see that the money is waving goodbye... T_T
April 17 ~ 22:
Let me tell you about this little thing, is useless. It stings, and dye the clothes, but did absolutely nothing to my face. Still having tons of acne and blackhead, and getting more too. DON'T buy this junk.
Didn't do much in between, or maybe I do, but don't remember?! Gusty winds and tornado warning every other day or so, oh, and hail one more time (now I remembered). But luckily the car is parked underneath the shade this time, tee hee.
April 27:
This little evil is on my bed crawling on my face while I am sleeping and woke me up. I thought is my own hair tingling on my face. But when I grab it, it is something hard, and I can feel that it's feet are moving (I guess trying to run away for me, haha). Thanks to my natural instinct (at least it is quicker than my brain, which is trying to get me a name of what I have experienced before) that makes me throw it away as quick as a lightning. Urgh! Gross. Cause me to not being able to sleep well for the whole night afterward, thinking there are more accompany me on my bed. Still having goose bumps as I am writing this.
I think it bite me, when I have my jacket on. Guess what, I will revenge! *Insert cynical laugh.
April 28:
Something is wrong with this car again... Man (as the car), do you have to keep whining like I have treated you so unbelievably bad before?
Engine check light comes on, and I have never experience this before either. Seems like a lot of first time for this month... Went to the dealer, and that guy told me that the technicians are all gone for the day, have to go back tomorrow, also, I will have to spend a fortune just to have them check out what's wrong with the engine. Definitely not excited about this. Not only that, I will have to rent a car to get this car checked out. Insanity is everywhere.
So I went home, trying to think of what might cause the light to come on. Then... here comes my very imaginative answer: It must be the tachometer! It all make sense. I tried to reverse, and the car jerked, then I feel like the car didn't really want to move even if I have push the gas pedal. All the oils and caps have been checked out. Nothing seem abnormal. So, it must be the tachometer. Haha, I am so smart, and realised that I am going to spend another big chunk of money to get this fixed.
Checked out how tachometer can be damaged. Wiki mentioned that the prolong use of high speed will cause PERMANENT damage or failure of engine. Er... *picking on the skin of the nails (this is what I will do when I am nervous), I think I did drive a little too fast every morning trying to beat the traffic, or get mad at the drivers who talk on the phone, or curse at the drivers who drive under the speed limit, or cast a mean stare at the old drivers whom I don't understand why they must drive while we are experiencing traffic jam hours, and to those that eat, drink and possibly pee in the car, talking on the phone, doing their make up or hair (doing all these at the same time) while the car is in motion... What is all these?! You have a robot car now? Then make sure it is driving on the speed limit!
Oh, I am way off the topic... =( Let's get back to the topic eh? So, I start to worry that the engine might be damaged eternally~
April 29:
Debating whether I should go fix the car first thing in the morning. I mean, the car can still move, other than my very imaginative tachometer failure. After I have consulted a few people, I have decided, to bring the car in for repair first. Call the other auto shop, found out that they are able to check it for me, yeah~ There is absolutely no way am I going to pay the dealer just to check it. Bring in the car, gave it to the auto shop people, wait frantically for the result... Then the auto shop owner came in from the garage, and asked: When did you fill up the gas? Hmm... interesting. What has this to do with the tachometer? I told him, last morning, and he said: Oh, so did you screw the cap tight? Erm... *brain is scanning through the things I have done. OK, I remember I screw the cap twice because I don't know if I have screw the first time tight. I replied: I 'think' I have the cap screw tight. Then he said: Well, the report says that you didn't screw your gas cap tight enough. So, it really isn't the tachometer's problem. * Insert face -_-||| We can turn off the signal for your for 35 bucks. -_-||| I replied: OK, please do. But, please still help me to check if there's something wrong with the tachometer, please~ Thinking to self: so it really isn't tachometer's problem. Then where did get all these impression that there's something wrong with the tachometer? Of course, nothing is wrong with the tachometer in the end. Oh well, at least I am not spending a fortune to get this fix. ^_^V
Dyed my hair for the very first time tonight. Well, the package says to leave the colour for ten minutes. I finished covering up all my hairs an hour later, and waited for ten minutes... I seriously doubt it should take that long to do it. But, I am being slow since it was my first time dyeing my hair, and by myself too. It was a total mess. After that ten minutes, I start washing the dye off my hair. Of course, the colour is splashing everywhere. I think at some point, the water from my hair roll down my forehead, and possibly into my eyes, so I cleaned my hair with my eyes closed all the way through. I still don't know how some can actually dye their own hair without any assistant. The verdict, my hair is still as black as always, but my hair smoothness is degrading, it's getting rough. Not happy. I guess I won't do it again in the future, at least not by myself.
April 30:
Got the house cleaned. Good grief, where are all these dusts coming from? Not that I open the window. Finished cleaning, found out another whatever bug that is at the side of my bed, dead. Remind self: need to report to the office... Finally I can have some rest before dinner, and my leisure time will be... *drum roll surfing on the web, hehe. While I am happily surfing, I saw something white at the side of the cord. Hmm, that seems weird, so I just move the cord away from it. Then something scary happened! It coiled up!!! Getting closer to have a better look, and guess what, is a huge worm! *yuck, goose bumps, goose bumps. I have to swipe it up, and thinking of killing it, rather than having it crawl back to the house again... But then, my final decision is to let it go. But still, gross to the max...
Then , having to wash two loads of clothes, along with the blanky. After putting the clothes into the dryer, I came back, getting ready to wash my face and finish blogging, I found out that I didn't wash all the towels in the bathroom... Argh @#$^%^#%$@$ That means, I have to go to the laundry again tomorrow...
The end for April 2011.
It's 2:40AM on May 1 now, and I am very very sleepy... Ciao~

Ciao~

Long face?
First thing first, I am quite disappointed with an event that has just happened in my life. I felt like I am being cheated. Either that or left hand don't know what the right hand is doing, making his/her decision without discussing within the group first.
Next up, I have finally got some positive results after a few weeks of "hard" work.

Tummy filler...
This is going to be a food post, as you have probably guessed from the title.
I realised I have too many tummy filler pics sitting in my camera, so, here they are. I wonder if I should delete those pictures once I post them up to my blog... Are stored in the folders and I know that I won't go back and look at them.
Anyway, it's going to be a picture loaded post.
I am going to post those food that are self-made first. Enjoy... (if you don't mind the ugliness?!)
Dumplings... This is the first time I try making some dumplings. I don't know if I have use the wrong wrapper or not (the one I used is the Wanton wrapper. Can you imagine me cutting off all the edges to make them somewhat round like dumpling wrapper?), the result is... They all stuck together, and very ugly too. Quite disappointed with the result. End up steaming all of them and eat them in lumps. The taste is great though. Anyway, the recipe is from xppinkx. She is such a great cook. Of course her dumpling looks 100 if not 1000x times more appealing than mine.
Home made version of banana boat.
Sushi.
More sushi.
A close up from the last pic.
OK. I admit most of these are not self-made. But I made the fruit punch though. There are some pineapples in that drink (can't be seen in the pic).
My quite ugly chicken mushroom speghetti. Is yummy, but I don't know why my speghetti always comes out watery.
Siew mai. Can you believe that they actually have tofu in there? I put the tofu in because I have some left over tofu from the other dish (dish below). Might as well make them into Siew mai. (Note: Still using the wrong wrapper = wanton wrapper. I made this dish before the dumplings.) I can't actually taste the tofu in the dish. The only downside is that the tofu makes the Siew mai spread apart because the tofu is too soft.
Last but not least, my attempt on the steam tofu with minced prawns. Ya, I know the liquid has dried up quite badly, plus most of the onions are in one piece. (Blame the knife! The one that I use is so dull that it can barely cut the tofu...)
Alright, here comes the restaurants' presentation...
This is taken approximately half a year ago. Just want to show you guys that these whole set is costing $10?! Too expensive for these little bit of things. Plus, they don't really taste good too. Where's the dollar menu they have advertised? What a rip off.
At least the restaurant's lamps are cute.
Strawberry shortcake? Or something, I don't remember already (taken half a year ago too). See what age does to you?
Buffet with sushi aisle. Ya, I know, those looks better than what I made (but I have limited ingredients... - try to defend myself...).
Another one. Yummy.
Boneless wings.
Forgot the name.
Alfredo something.
Lazy to explain. Don't know the name either.
Can you see the crust? By that I mean you can barely see the crust, is full of the goodness.
Mind you this bowl is actually bigger than my face (given that my face is small but big bottom...) Anyway, this is about twenty five centimeters. Huge right? Unfortunately the store changed the name, probably the owner too, and we no longer have this huge bowl of noodles for just another $1 more. Boo~
Durian flavour chips? Eww~
Don't know the name, so... going to move on...
A restaurant that serves your food in the bag, and you wearing a bib when eating. It's tasty if you don't mind the dirty. Hmm... it rhyme (shoky moment), la la la~~
Oh, update on my legs. Plasma bursting and forming, with unbearable itch. Finally got some results. Thank you for those who helped. Basically, there's nothing you can do... Wuu~ (break down crying)
Fin. Till next time.
